Audible Mainframe wins the Airwalk 'Unsigned Hero - Road to Austin' Contest

Audible Mainframe, a six-member live hip-hop band out of Long Beach, California, has won the Airwalk Unsigned Hero - Road to Austin contest.  The band earned the most online votes out of the top ten finalists to secure the win.

As winners, the band will receive an all-expenses paid trip to the SXSW Music Festival to play the SPIN Music Showcase and the MusicGorilla.com Music Showcase as well as $5000 spending cash.

AM was one of thousands of bands that applied to the contest.  Promotion sponsors then narrowed the field to ten bands and asked the public to vote for their favorite.

The website allowed visitors to listen to songs and watch a video by each band, and encouraged voting by giving away Ipod Nanos to certain lucky voters. AM's featured songs on the contest page included 'Anybody Else'  and 'Don't Be A Sheep (on a Friday Night).'

Second place and $1000 went to Empires, an alternative rock band from Chicago, while Los Angeles based rock band Million Dollar Mouth came in third.
